We know the reality of faith needing to be more than an intellectual exercise, and have walked through the fire of raw loss and suffering ourselves. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Know the reality that God is very close to you during this thin skinned time of suffering; He will give you grace to walk through this valley.<br />I am thinking the Galatians verse you referred to might be this one, "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or an I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ" (Galatians 1:10).<br />The difficult part is always determining if it is God's call you are hearing, or the call of self.
